Situation

Plumpton is a linear village located within The South Downs National park, nestling adjacent to Downs. It is located 8km north west of Lewes. Plumpton is divided into two, with Plumpton Green being to the north, where you will find the Station with fast services to London (Victoria), Lewes and the coast. There is a junior school in the village, along with a thriving village shop and Post Office, church and two pubs. It is a very active village with playing fields, clubs and societies. Plumpton race course is also a very popular venue throughout the season. Plumpton Agricultural College is also well established with its historical buildings and grounds. Sport is also very much part of the village life with a successful cricket team, worthy of special mention who were the first team to wear 'coloured clothes' for matches! There have also been some famous faces in Plumpton in the past.
